Meet the dogs in our care
Poppy

Hi there, I'm Poppy and I have come into rescue due to family health issues. I have been in the care of ECR for a while and they have organised getting me spayed and vaccinated. I originally lived with another dog, but I like to be the centre of attention, and I did keep bullying her so I need to be the only pet.
Typical for my breed I am quite nervous at first but extremely affectionate when I get to know you. My favourite hobbies are sitting in your lap for cuddles and doing mad zoomies chasing the birds in the garden. Please don't be put off by my spooky barking when I first meet you and I don't like quick hand movements, so not keen to be stroked on our first date! However, my most favourite snack is sausage, so please bring a pocketful and I will soon be your bestie!
I hadn't really experienced very much in my life, but now have some doggy boyfriends who I like to walk out with! I will need a quiet, adult home. If you would like to adopt me please complete a rehoming questionnaire.

Nico

Hi, I'm Nico a 1 year old medium size crossbreed with a HUGE character. I am everybody's friend, full of beans and extremely affectionate. I'm on your lap or shoulder giving you a facewash as soon as you sit down. I love to play with tennis balls and encourage my canine friends to chase me but I'm far quicker on my speedy spindle legs. I am looking for an active home and Bunny and I are very attached to each other, so we would like a home together with a big, secure garden for lots of off lead running and playing. I am quite worried by loud noises and would not be suited to a busy town home with lots of traffic, so semi rural would be lovely. I am also full of mischief, very full on in play and frenetic and have earned the nickname naughty Nico, not sure why, surely everyone adores a loveable rogue!!
I have recently started to go to training classes and absolutely love it, loads of things to do, lots of traets and I can show them all my tricks. Bunny comes along to watch me from the car she is hoping to join soon. I walk well on the lead and am house trained although I do like to mark initially and can spray my wee really high and fall over which is another one of my tricks.

Bunny

Hello my name is Bunny, I'm an 18 month old medium size crossbreed girlie. I am quite hand shy, particularly around men but I'm coming on leaps and bounds literally! I love to play with toys but am equally happy mooching about and sniffing. I am extremely affectionate and love cuddles and will just gaze up at you whilst enjoying all the love and attention. I love food and am straight in your pocket snuffling for any treats! I was abandoned near a busy road and am understandably anxious around traffic so would suit a semi rural home. I'm still undergoing assessment but happily play with my canine friends, I love Nico and we would like to be homed together.
I am quite nervous and timid when I first meet you and tend to follow Nico's lead as he loves everyone and is much braver than me.I am quite confident at HQ now but do tend to get spooked by noises and quick movements when out and about. We have been working on my anxiety around cars when I am out for a walk and I have been doing well. I love going in the car and sit looking out, watching everything. I am extremely affectionate and love cuddles and really like being groomed. I am very foody and they call me greedy but I was abandoned by a busy road with my pup and food was very scarce for a long time before we were rescued. I love playing with Nico although we do eat separately as I will steal his food but I can't bear the thought of being separated from him and we are therefore looking to go together. We would love a big garden where we can do lots of zoomies and play chase with toys. I walk well on the lead and I'm house trained.

Buddy

Hello, my name is Buddy B and I have had a rather sad start in life which has left me extremely anxious in new situations and around new people, especially men. Once I know you I am the most loveable boy and would really like a lady owner I could share the sofa with for cuddles.
I've been at HQ for several years now and my confidence has grown but I a still very wary of men. I enjoy the company of other dogs and could live with another well matched companion. My favourite hobby is sitting with you for cuddles and I'm more than happy to snuggle up on the sofa. All true terrier lovers will be smitten with me, my antics will make you smile! I currently have a strict routine and this has helped with my separation anxiety and I'm happy to chill in bed with a chew and I enjoy a good snooze in the morning and afternoon.
I am very noise phobic, so would suit a very calm and quiet home in a semi rural area as I would not cope with a busy suburban park with lots of people. I love a good country walk and am used to a long line and will not be one that can be let off initially as I might get spooked, so need a secure field for any off lead running. I'm still a work in progress and any transition to a new home will need to be done gradually, please give me a chance, I have waited so long for the right mum to come along. If you would like to give me a home please complete a rehoming form.

Biscoff

Hi there, my names Biscoff and I'm a real cheeky chap! I can get a little scared of quick hand movements but soon come out of my shell. I'm very nosey and get involved in eveything going on around me. If you love Terriers then your sure to love me! I also had a very bad start in life and need gentle introductions to new people, especially men.
I'm looking for an active adult experienced terrier home where there is always lots going on, I need to stay on a long line because I love to go off investigating, once my super nose picks up a scent I'm off! A semi rural home would be best for me, as like my friend Buddy I do get scared by loud noises and traffic. I am super affectionate, love lots of cuddles and fuss and will make you laugh daily with my antics! My favourite trick is to distract you with some mischief and then slurp your cuppa! I will need a lovely secure garden with at least a 6ft fence with gravel boards. If you think im lovely complete a rehoming form.
Update from Biscoff's foster Mum Debbie: Biscoff is a happy affectionate character and very handsome. He has come such a long way in a short time adapting to home comforts. He greets me every morning with a waggy tail and gift in his mouth. He then carries his bedding from his pen to the sofa to confirm he is ready to chill with his hooman! He is still nervous of almost everything but is much braver now; he can walk near traffic and even tolerates the hoover! He loves to explore and is very inquisitive. He loves playing with his boomer ball and travels in the car well. He can parallel walk with dogs but gets overwhelmed with dogs in his space, so slow introductions needed and we're working on his socialising skills and confidence. He can be weary of some men, especially in 'his' home, but again once he knows them he is happy to have found another person to rub his belly. All in all he is adorable and an absolute pleasure to have around.

Reggie

Hello, my name is Reggie and I am a young boy who has really come out of my shell since arriving at HQ! I love to play with toys and am a really happy bouncy here. I have had a very bad start in life and it has made me very anxious around people, and I tend to suddenly panic. The kind people here at ECR are helping me with people skills and I enjoy new experiences out with my girlfriend Poppy whose company boost my confidence. I currently have a strict routine which has helped with my anxiety and I can now happily curl up in my comfy bed and relax rather than quivering against my door.
I come out four times a day here and enjoy doing mad zoomies, playing with my tennis balls and having a fuss from Jackie and Nikki. Now that I'm more chilled and receptive, I will be working with a programme to help with my nerves, which I hope will find me an understanding, calm and quiet home. If I could fit into your home please complete a rehoming questionnaire.
