General feedback received is that some people seem to think that the charity has closed, we don't have any dogs and can't understand why we are still fundraising. We have currently closed for new intakes as a close family member's health is deteriorating and I am unable to spread myself between covering kennels/visits/admin/fundraising and caring for that person. We still have dogs at HQ for homing along with palliative care residents and dogs in long term foster homes which require food, vets, meds, treats, toys and general looking after and walking. The registered charity will continue as we give full rescue backup for all our rehomed dogs and have done since the rescue started in 1992. Despite being officially closed for intakes, we have still been helping local dogs find new homes on the basis that their owners/guardians are able to look after them until a new home is sourced and fully checked by ourselves. Therefore, we still need to fundraise to cover these ongoing cost and our last few months vet bill alone totalled in excess of £2500.
